Bad quality recording enhancement
Recording clearance if:
- speech is not understandable
- the recording is noisy
- speech is hardly audible
- there is too big difference between the speakers loudness
These problems can be solved with a good result. The noise can be reduced, the recording can be louder and the speech can be enhanced.
Many people turn to us with the problem of having a record taken by themselves, however the speaker may not be heard properely. The speech is often too quiet also the surrouding noises make it less audible. The company started its activity on forensic fields, working for the police and courts. However, we found that private clients showed a great interest to the audio clearance process carried out in our studio. We successfully find good solutions to remove noises and clear recordings.
The studio is professionally equippped especially developed to enchance recordings, to remove unwanted noises and by and expert great results can be achived. According to our experience, the free softwares cannot reach such level and in the case of a serious problem there is no point in working with such sofwares especially without professional knowledge. Sometimes the outcome is even worse than the original recording. Therefore when sending us your recording, please make sure you always send the original recording without any alteration.
The process of audio enhancement
We never promise something that cannot be achieved. In every case a preliminary analysis is done on the recording. Simply e-mail us your recording and we will take a sample of it to remove any unwanted noises and enhance the voice or speech so that you will be able to see whether the result will be satisfactory. We shall then send you the impoved part of the recording along with a calculation of expenses. Once you listened to the improved recording, it will help you make a decision whether you require the enhancement of the full recording. The preliminary analysis is free.
At the course of the analysis, the recording is classified as per the below rating:
The recording will be repaired with an excellent result. Noises can be removed. Speech can be cleared. After the enhancement process the speech will be 99 % understandable.
The recording can be enhanced with a fairly good result. Some parts will be more understandable. The speech will be 80% clear.
The recording can be partly repaired, however there will be some sections that cannot be revealed because the recording appliance could not record everything properely. The missing parts cannot be replaced. After the enhancement 50% of the speech will be understandable.
With the enhancement process little of the understandability can be improved. Due to the weak quality of the material many parts of the recording are deficient. However, after the repairing process the recording will be more audible. Background noises can be faded.
Due to the poor quality of the recording, it cannot be improved nor the speech enhanced.
How much is it?
The costs the enhancement depend on the lenght and the quality of the recording therefore the exact costs will be defined only after the preliminary analysis. Generally, a few minute-recording starts from 40 €.
What result can you expect?
Many years of experience show that our customers primarily want to improve the intelligibility and quality of speech in a recording. During the quality improvement, we reduce noise that disturbs speech, as well as background sounds. In the video below you can hear some examples where speech is completely obscured by disturbing noise. At the end of each sample, you can hear the enhanced version. The quality that can be achieved depends to a large extent on the quality of the original recording equipment and the resolution of the recording. We cannot do miracles, but we can achieve very good results. Why can't we do miracles? We can only save and highlight the useful parts of the recording. What is not on the recording cannot be added later. But in most cases we achieve excellent results and the recording becomes much more understandable than the original recording.
